Our Safe Environment

The safety of our children is our top priority. Fairy Tales Nursery has ample parking, so parents can drop off and collect their children safely. We have a watchman on site at all times to manage the security of the building. CCTV is also in operation at all times and is monitored by the nursery management.

We are very strict concerning our collection procedure and will not allow anyone else to collect your child without prior consent. For security reasons, we do require a copy of the ID of the nominated person coming to collect your child.

To keep our children and staff safe, a planned fire evacuation takes place every month. No warning is given, as this prepares our children and staff for the unlikely event of a fire in the building. By doing this routinely, children learn to stay calm and walk out to the assembly point with the rest of the nursery. We also comply with all safety regulations, as per the Ministry of Labour.

To prevent and limit the spread of germs, we ask all children to have separate indoor shoes to use at the nursery and our staff adhere to the same procedure. Any visitors entering the setting are also asked to change their shoes into those provided by the nursery.

As per the Ministry of Labour’s rules and regulations, the nursery does not provide meals. We ask all parents to follow our food policy for health and safety reasons; which includes nut-free food and non-glass containers. More detailed information is available upon request.

As sleeping is part of a child’s normal routine, the nursery provides bedding for individual children, which is washed after each usage to prevent cross-contamination. Parents of babies under the age of 1.5 years have the option to provide their own bedding.

Our Healthy Environment

As we strongly encourage and promote healthy eating, we kindly request that you provide a varied and healthy menu. Fruits and vegetables are to be prepared and cut for children to consume. Cherry tomatoes and grapes are to be cut lengthwise in order to avoid choking. Taking into account children’s allergies, nuts of any kind are not permitted. This includes Nutella, peanut butter and all foodstuffs with traces of nuts. After mealtimes, the children’s lunch containers are returned home with leftovers so that parents can monitor their child’s intake. In support of safety, parents are advised to pack their children’s meals in non-glass containers.

We ask that you kindly adhere to our food policy.  For more information, please see the Nursery Healthy Eating Policy.

As the children in our care are very young, a clean and hygienic environment is paramount.

We have cleaners on site who follow a strict schedule to maintain the hygiene of the nursery.

Further deep cleaning is conducted outside of the nursery’s normal operating times.

Our duty to protect the children in our care is taken very seriously. We have strict exclusion guidelines for vomiting, diarrhoea, and fever. This also applies to any communicable diseases. If your child shows a fever of 37.8 Celsius or higher, you will be required to collect your child from the nursery and an exclusion period of 24 hours will be applied.

Prescribed medication is administered on site by our licensed nurse. The nurse can only administer medicine that has been prescribed by a doctor. Any medication arriving at the nursery without a prescription label or a printed prescription will not be accepted.
